Research

ARBOR is a pilot project funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. The funding requires the following -

• Development of an outreach service for people bereaved by suicide,
• Trial of the service, and
• Evaluation of the service's effectiveness.

Evaluation of ARBOR will include monitoring the wellbeing of clients to assess whether the service has been of benefit and monitoring the wellbeing of Peer Support volunteers. This evaluation is important as it enables us to assess how well ARBOR is helping those newly bereaved. If ARBOR is shown to be effective it could be extended to other communities.
