She has held a number of senior teaching roles including co-ordinator of Drama studies at Corpus Christi College, Director of Music at Mercedes College and Head of Music Curriculum at Presbyterian Ladies College before she retired in 2009. It has always been an interest of hers, to observe the creative side of students and to follow the development of their talents in both Music and Drama. In 2004 Estelle took the Mercedes Select choir to the Youth and Music Festival in Vienna and they were very successful.
As a result of her daughter Charmaine passing away in 2007 from suicide, she has been very keen to become an advocate of good mental health and wellbeing. She has devoted a large part of her time to bringing about awareness of the issues surrounding mental health and finding out more about mental health and well being through attending conferences and doing research. It is her aim to make a positive contribution to the further development of good Mental Health care and management.
